Bryan K. Ward
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ward is a certified public accountant with over twenty years experience in accounting and auditing in the insurance industry. He was a senior auditor for a major regional accounting firm, directing financial audits of insurance companies. He joined Old American in January 1995, where he directed Old American's special program business. In June 2000, his responsibilities expanded to include marketing, compliance, financial reporting, reinsurance reporting and treasury functions. Mr. Ward earned a BBA degree in Economics and Accounting from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

April D. Findley
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Findley has over twenty years of experience in the automobile insurance industry, joining Old American in 1998. In addition to adjusting and supervising claims for multiple states, her experience includes managing claims operations for various managing general agencies and insurers. In 2001, her management responsibilities were expanded to include compliance, marketing, MGA oversight, litigation and regulatory conduct. In 2008, her role was further expanded to direct operational activities of the organization. She is a licensed property and casualty claims adjuster, was awarded the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation in 1990 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Mark F. Banar
Treasurer

Mr. Banar has over eleven years of accounting and auditing experience in the insurance, consumer finance, and retail industries, joining Old American in 2000. He manages the rating and form filing processes as well provides financial oversight during the examinations of Old American’s MGA partner programs. He works closely with Old American’s Reinsurance Accounting department and performs managerial oversight for the Accounts Payable department. Additionally, he assists in the Due Diligence reviews for new programs. Mr. Banar is also a licensed P&C claim adjuster. He holds a BA degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

James E. Carne
Information Technology Manager

Mr. Carne has over fifteen years of computer programming and information technology experience. He joined Old American in September of 2004 after building enterprise custom applications. He has managed Windows and UNIX based systems and security applications in addition to acting as the Database Administrator for MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase database servers. His current management responsibilities include development of in house applications, website integration, and adapting future technology. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

Martin Gohr
Program Manager

Mr. Gohr has over thirty years of insurance industry experience, with a focus on the specialty-risk areas of property and casualty. Since 1990, he has operated in the automobile insurance field, lending his expertise in program start-up, product portfolio management, cross functional team leadership, market positioning and pricing analysis to highly successful insurance companies. He joined Old American in 2008 and in his current position as Program Manager is responsible for MGA oversight, program analysis, regulatory conduct, rating and form filing processes. Mr. Gohr holds licenses as a managing general agent, property & casualty agent, and property & casualty claim adjuster. He is a graduate of Drake University with a Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in marketing.

Michael G. Hansen
Audit and Compliance Manager

Mr. Hansen has over thirty years of claims experience in the personal and commercial insurance industry, joining Old American in 2004 from a major multi-line personal and commercial insurance company. In addition to prior experience managing claims nationwide, he was on the home office staff of another major insurance company and was involved with extensive claims auditing. His current management responsibilities include overseeing the direct action litigation, as well as managing the audit team. He has an all lines adjusting license, and has earned the Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Professional Pilot Technology from Purdue University.

Richard LaBass
IT Operations

Mr. LaBass has over thirteen years of information technology experience in both the private, government sector with an emphasis on hardware, software and network implementation. He joined Old American in August of 2008 after implementing and maintaining governmental hardware data centers. He has played many roles in the information technology field from field service engineer and network\systems administrator to help desk technical lead. His current responsibilities include maintaining all IT related hardware, software and PDA devices as well as keeping Old American’s needs paramount. He holds multiple technical certifications and has additional computer related training at Tarrant County and Dallas County Community Colleges.

Ida Means
Reinsurance Accounting Manager

Ms. Means has over twenty-seven years of insurance and reinsurance experience. Since joining Old American in 1998, she has served in various supervisory and management positions with increasing responsibility and authority in the accounting department. Her management responsibilities include statutory reporting and reinsurance reporting. She previously served as an accounting supervisor for a major reinsurance company and insurance company directing monthly financial and reinsurance reporting. Ms. Means attended Nationwide Business College, Eastfield College, and El Centro Junior College, all of Dallas, Texas. She has received numerous CPE credits for completing property and casualty insurance and technology classes in various aspects of the industry.

Melissa W. Sharer
Operations Manager
Ms. Sharer has over fifteen years of insurance and administrative experience. Since joining Old American in 1993, she has assumed positions of increasing responsibility and authority. Ms. Sharer is currently responsible for managing office operations, facilities, telecommunications and executive administration. She also serves as confidential executive assistant for Mr. Ward. She holds a BA degree from Texas Tech University.

Shannon Hill
Regulatory Supervisor
Ms. Hill joined the Old American team in 1998. Her primary responsibilities involve supervisory support for Compliance Coordinators, processing rate and form filings, and performing financial and compliance examinations of Old American’s Managing General Agent partners. Additionally, she regularly interacts with the Texas Department of Insurance and coordinates regulatory projects as required by the Department. In addition, she investigates suspected fraudulent activities involving agents and/or consumers. She has worked in the insurance industry for over ten years and previously held positions in premium finance, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. She is also a licensed property and casualty claims adjuster.

Karen M. Callaway-Harmon
Senior Human Resources & Litigation Specialist
Ms. Callaway-Harmon joined Old American in 1999 working in the financial accounting department where she updated and created new financial models, managed bank accounts and yearly taxes. She continues to provide assistance in the accounting area, but in 2000, expanded her role in the Human Resource Department where her duties include recruiting, payroll, 401k administration, and health insurance documentation for financial forecasts. Additionally, she works in claims operations by coordinating daily litigation and oversight as well as database maintenance. Karen is a licensed property and casualty claims adjuster. She has two business degrees; a BBA in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship and her second BBA in Human Resource & Behavioral Operations Management, both from the University of North Texas, in Denton.

Karla Chance
MGA Auditor
Ms. Chance has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, joining Old American in March of 2005. She has experience as a property and casualty agent, an underwriting manager and marketing representative with top insurers and Managing General Agencies. Her primary responsibilities involve performing financial, underwriting, claims and compliance examinations of Old American’s Managing General Agents. She currently holds a General Lines Agent license and a property and casualty claims adjuster license. She earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration. In 2008 she was inducted into the Cambridge Who’s Who Executive and Professional Registry.

Patrick Herter
MGA Auditor
Mr. Herter has over thirteen years experience in personal and commercial automobile insurance, holding various claims, marketing and agency positions within the industry. He joined Old American in March of 2005 as a member of the audit team. His primary responsibilities involve performing financial, underwriting, claims and compliance examinations of Managing General Agents. He is licensed as a property and casualty claims adjuster, General Lines Agent and a Managing General Agent. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Carmen B. Ignacio
Senior Accountant
Ms. Ignacio has been with Old American since 1994. She began her career with Old American in Premium Accounting and was steadily promoted to her present position of Senior Accountant, with responsibility for MGA & Reinsurance Accounting. Prior to joining Old American, she worked for a major multiline insurance company. She is a Philippine CPA who earned her BSBA Accounting degree from The University of the East in Manila, Philippines. She migrated to the U.S. in 1984 and has over thirty years of accounting experience.

Blanca E. Medina-Powelson
Compliance Coordinator
Ms. Medina-Powelson has several years of insurance and customer service experience; including assisting Medicare and Medicaid clients in a government agency. Since joining Old American as a member of the audit team in July 2005, her primary responsibilities include satisfying consumer complaints, coordinating MGA audits and agent licensing. Ms. Medina-Powelson earned her paralegal certificate from the University of North Texas and has attended Collin County Community College and Cedar Valley College. Ms. Medina-Powelson is a licensed property and casualty claims adjuster.

Sandra Morse
Accountant
Ms. Morse has over eleven years of insurance industry experience. Her primary responsibilities include general ledger maintenance and accounts payable/receivable functions. Prior to joining Old American in June 2001, she was a premium accountant and a customer services representative and handled payroll, commissions and accounts payable for a Texas based Managing General Agent. Ms. Morse attended Collin County Community College.

Ita Ross
MGA-Reinsurance Accountant
Ms. Ross has over twenty years of experience in the insurance and banking industry. Most recently, she rejoined Old American’s MGA and Reinsurance Accounting team in January 2006. Prior to joining Old American, Ms. Ross was an accountant working with Texas based Managing General Agencies. Ms. Ross holds a Business degree from Richland College.

Michele Rummel
Compliance Coordinator
Ms. Rummel has over eight years experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Old American in 2001, Ms. Rummel held positions with a Texas based Managing General Agent. Ms. Rummel's current responsibilities include coordinating MGA audits, processing complaints, and agent licensing. Ms. Rummel is a licensed property and casualty claims adjuster. She holds a BS degree in Family & Consumer Resources from The University of Arizona in Tucson.

Michelle Tullos
MGA Auditor
Ms. Tullos has been with Old American since 2008 starting with an internship, then progressing to the Product Management team. In this roll she reviewed new and existing programs for compliance, program design, and rates. In August of 2009 she joined the Audit Team. Her primary responsibilities involve performing financial, underwriting, claims and compliance examinations of Managing General Agents. She currently holds a property and casualty claims adjuster license. She earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication from the University of North Texas.

Rachel Totty
Product Analyst
Ms. Totty is a recent graduate from Oklahoma Christian University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She joined Old American in October 2009. Her primary responsibilities include coordinating Data Calls and TICO reporting to TDI, reviewing and filing Rates, Rules and Underwriting Guidelines, coordinating the distribution of Zip/County code list updates to the MGA’s, updating Market Analysis tools as rate changes are filed or ITC Turbo Rate is updated, facilitating the Due Diligence process for new programs, and assisting in special projects.

Brenda Walsh
Customer Service Representative
Ms. Walsh has over twenty years of experience in Customer Service and Administration. Prior to joining Old American she held positions with a software development company providing exceptional Customer Service, Administration and Accounts Payable Support. Since joining Old American in May 2006, she has assumed responsibility for customer service and assisting team members on various special projects. Ms. Walsh attended the Software Academy in Dallas, Texas.
